Though it is a continuous effort to go out into the world and face the changing winds of real life, I must. People I care about depend upon me to do it. Every day, rain or shine (or hail or snow), I have to be that superhero.
The comforting truth is that I'm not alone.
There are people out in the world just like me. How do I know? Several decades ago, I found it remarkable to discover a pattern that every single part of my makeup, no matter how tiny, had a match in at least one other person I had come in contact with.
I came across this convenient situation of life when I started sharing my authentic interests, hopes, and experiences... really sharing the core of what makes me tick.
Over time, it dawned on me that I had quite possibly found a hidden treasure, the answer to the age-old question:
What is the purpose of life?
The only consistent answer I have found so far is:
The purpose of life is to make meaningful connections.
That's it, whittled down to its simplest form. Mystery solved. The goal of life is to connect with yourself and to connect with others on some recognizable level.
I hope you and I will find common ground, too.
